About

Mark Quarless

Sidney, British Columbia

I build and fix the technical side of small operations — websites, custom tools, computers, and the networks they run on — for shops, trades, and small businesses on the Saanich Peninsula and Greater Victoria. That includes the practical work of making two lists stop fighting each other (jobs vs invoices, deliveries vs pay, paper vs the system). I spent years doing exactly that on my own courier routes and saved myself roughly 1,500 hours.

I came to this from a technical background rather than a pure software path. I graduated from BCIT in 2009 with an Associate Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (Computer Control option). The program covered PC architecture, networking, digital logic, and applied problem-solving. In 2017 I earned CompTIA A+ certification.

Before running my own courier business I spent several years in IT asset disposition and field operations, including secure pickup, intake, troubleshooting, and refurbishment of desktops, monitors, and printers for enterprise clients. That work involved both the physical side (handling equipment, coordinating with IT staff on site) and the practical technical side (testing, basic repair, data handling).

The common thread is the same as the jobs I take now: describe the actual problem, price it clearly, fix or build it, and hand it over so you keep it.

If something technical is costing you time or money and it isn’t already on the list of services, describe it anyway. A short note is enough.
